Join the Park’s Rangers and Learn Something New

July is here, with a robust calendar of ranger-led programs in Acadia National Park.  They include walks, talks, hikes, boat cruises, and campground programs.  Some are very casual (you drop in and a ranger is there to answer questions); others feature an impressive array of visuals, props, and audience participants.  There are even special programs for younger children.  Two of my favorites are: Stars Over Sand Beach, offered Tuesdays in July at 9:30pm, and Birds of Prey, on Friday afternoons at 3pm at Sieur de Monts Nature Center.  Did you know that owls and hawks eat their prey whole and then regurgitate the indigestible parts as pellets?   For more information, visit www.nps.gov/acad/.

Looking for more ideas on what to do in Acadia?  You can find them here, plus recommendations for restaurants and resources for hiking, biking, and kayaking.
